Halloween is Cool: The Royal Tenenbaums

Good Day Pussycats,
I'm in the middle of the ocean. I haven't left my room in four days. I've never been more lonely in my life, and I think I'm in love with Margot...
Today I bring you yet another Halloween look that is made out of the contents of my closet a little inspiration and a lot of cups of coffee to get me through the day. While The Royal Tenenbaums has been one of my favorite films for a long time now, I can't blame my sheer fangirlness for the reason why I did this. This past episode of SNL featuring guest, Ed Norton (whom I adore), did a parody of Wes Anderson films with a horror movie twist. This is literally the funniest thing ever I would pay top dollar to see The Midnight Coterie of Sinister Intruders. Gah now I'm practicing my Owen Wilson impression...woaw... hahah anyway that paired with how I actually have Luke Wilson's hair cut led to the perfect costume.

  1.  A Margot by your side specifically in some sort of fur coat
  2. Lacoste polo or button down
  3. Plaid skirt
  4. Sweat band for when you are playing tennis
  5. Aviator sunglasses
  6. Fred Perry polo
  7. Wrist bands
other things you may need are
  • Eye liner
  • knife to remove one of your ring fingers
  • general apathy
  • Tennis racket
  • painting kit
  • dysfunctional family
  • Hawk
This costume was so easy and so simple and so very much my favorite because, frankly, I always wanted to be a Tenebaum.

and on that note, I'm off to have a "meh" day
I hope yours is better
and please keep it sassy,

  1. LOVE this! One of my absolutely favorite movies; if I wasn't already being Holly Golightly I would totally steal this idea.
    xo, Caroline

  2. That is SO brilliant. You're amazing.
