Obsession: Childhood playthings

My latest obsession is CHILDHOOD PLAYTHINGS!
more specifically
old jewelry from yesteryear.
I'm so tired of this idea of what a 18-year-old should dress like. I like embracing the tiny child that I actually am, especially when it comes to this time of my life, where everyone is focusing on "the future," whatever and wherever that may be.
To distract me from that brouhaha, I find happiness and enjoyment out of the simplicity of things.
cheap
grocery-store
Jewelry.
Do yall remember how crappy and nonsensical there jewelry and toys are? They are completely low-budget and highly unappetizing to anyone over the age of 6
but I love it all

especially this dream bride kit

because who is more of a dream bride then this lady?....right? right???

it comes with two wedding rings and a Marriage License!
It has everything and more for the aspiring bride to be.
I think it could be a Dynasty themed wedding.
or maybe Golden Girls themed?
When I was a kid me and my three sisters would play wedding, but none of us ever wanted to be the bride, so we'd trick my sister Hayley into playing the bride by asking her to race us down the stairs once we were half way down
Then since we had no groom she had to kiss the air, and we'd all laugh
we were cruel.

MOVING ON
I found this awesome lightup bracelet from my local Longs Drugs and is is fun, and easter themed, and lights up.
but after taking it out of the packaging I realized its much to small for my wrist
(consider it in your package Maddie & Soph!)

Then here are a few bracelets from my short lived "rave" days.
I went to one and got all this free jewelry
then began to fear for my life and for possible diseases that may be inquired by just being in that atmosphere
so I took my free jewelry and scadaddled.
I'm quite the rebel.

Then here are a few other kewl items.
My sister went on a bow-bedazzeling spree about 2 yers ago
and I found this boy recently and have claimed it as my own.
This is accompanied with some buttons I bought from Walmart,
I know...I gave in
but I'm going to try to make an effort to not shop at walmart! I'm going to really really try!

Lastly
I made all these bows out of candy wrappers
which was inspired by my latest fashion inspiration

RACHEL TRACHTENBURG!
from the band SuperCute! and from The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players

She is such an inspiration and is just too cute
I'm going to do a full inspiration post about her very soon (aka this friday)
so I'll leave you with one of SuperCute!'s music videos to tide you over till then

keep it sassy
and remember
stay SUPERCUTE!,

  2. I completely remember these extremely cheap, yet mesmerizing toys as a child! I knew they were cheap but didn't care because I just wanted new toys! :) You normally see those toys randomly placed in sections of the grocery store that have foods that pertain to kids to get them to nag their parents (I did that lots!) & it would work sometimes! But by the end of the day, I lost like half of the pieces! :)
